TOK Curators at Fire Station Artists' Studios

TOK Curators have been selected for participation in the residency program of Fire Station Artist's Studios in Dublin. Irish art scene is well known for multidisciplinary projects engaging various communities and using cutting-edge socially-based methodologies that allow stimulation of social change. In Russia, TOK is one of very few organizations sharing the same vision and approach and the research visit to Dublin will let us maintain constructive dialogue and professional exchange with Irish peers, expand our practice and together generate new knowledge applicable to international contexts. The research will focus on learning about socially-engaged art projects and principles and meeting people practicing them as well as presenting both TOK’s and my own projects that we curate in St Petersburg. The research trip which will be based on series of presentations, meetings, talks and discussions, which will create new connections between Ireland and Russia that are crucial in the current global sociopolitical situation.

In addition to residency at FSAS we have also been invited to give a talk at Callan Workhouse Union (CWU), a developing facility for art, design, research and community activities in Callan, Co. Kilkenny. The talk will be a part of the seminar ‘Meet you at the Green’ for Irish curators, art educators and artists.

We hope that the visit to Dubin will allow us to find new potential collaborators and future participants of our upcoming and ongoing projects, such as 'Critical Mass' and 'Propaganda News Machine'.

TOK's reseacrh trip is partially supported by STEP Travel grants program of European Cultural Foundation.
